Mantidplot crashes on showInstrument when no instrument definition file exists

Description

Crashes when Show Instrument on a workspace created by argus0026287.nxs file. This also happens when some ascii files loaded using LoadAscii(use AutoTestData/AsciiExample.txt file) ,LoadGSS.

in [8101] it no longer crashes on this file, or others I can find/generate without an instrument defined.
