This solves the axes not joining issue

  1. Canvas frame on at 1 point
  2. Draw backbones off

Further changes to remove the axes not joining up at the corners

This one disables the axes backbones (these are the ones that don't join up) and enables a canvas border. There is one exception that all Colour bar axes will always show it's backbone - otherwise it looks horrible

Most of this is done through a change to the stored preferences using a one off change so people can still change the values later.

To test:

  1. Start mantidplot
  2. look at view perferences->2D plots
  3. the canvas should be set with a border of 1
  4. and the axes backbones should be off
  5. Check 1D and colour map plots look ok
  6. change settings and save/reload to check that changes are saved.
