This is done in the FitPropertyBrowser, but not in FunctionBrowser.

This doesn't seem to fit very well with the purpose of the FunctionBrowser (a convenience tool for modifying a function) though, so probably need to consider to re-factor FitPropertyBrowser to extract the simple base-class which we could use in the ALC interface.
