From Instrument View users need to be able to extract the location, within a detector bank, of a number of detectors that need to be masked. This information can then be entered and read from a SANS mask file. As in the email from Steve King below.
a command that works with rows/columns would be acceptable BUT we need a more convenient way to find the row/col no. from a Show Instrument display which presently only gives us spectrum numbers (which we then have to put in a piece of Python)! It’s tedious for us and I keep forgetting the nuances of what needs doing. For a User it would be impossible.

The instrument view has been modified (in another ticket) to display column and row numbers. The front detector of LOQ doesn't have this but the users haven't asked for that.
