3D Instrument View: can MantidObject be removed?

Description

It seems to only decorate for high-resolution lighting, a now-unused feature. Can probably be removed entirely.

Tried but ran into some bugs, so I did not commit the changes. I still feel that MantidObject could be removed but it does not seem to have a big performance impact anyway.
