3D Instrument View: colors do not seem to be correct for counts < 1.0

Description

If your workspace has total counts much below 1.0, the instrument display is all one color even if the scale is correct.

As of the latest version, on Ubuntu, this works for me now. Not sure what might have changed in the past 4 weeks to cause this.

This still can occur,

Steps to reproduce: 

load a file eg. musr00028839
a=mtd["musr00028839"]
display the instrument view
a/=50000 (a number > the max int counts)

Anders has also reported that -ve numbers appear as top of the colour bar range.

(In [10255]) Fixed colours for log10 scale. Linear scale works fine for me. re #2079

Works - also for negative values
