API Improvements for MDImage/MDWorkspace

Description
The MDWorkspace, like other Workspace types may server a number of purposes. Some use-cases focus more on the MDImage aspects of the MDWorkspace facade. In order to support future usage, it is necessary to make it easier to provide and use the MDImage aspects of the MDWorkspace. Options in the current implementation requrire IMDFileFormat to load Image information, but developers would also need to provide implementation for methods relating to read_pix, read_pix_subset etc.
It should be possible to use the MDWorkspace/MDImage without concerns about the pixel aspects. Make it easy to pass in a valid MDImage and use the MDWorkspace in an MDImage-only mode.
