This is all about making the best guesses to show a usefull view immediately and make it easier to find the interesting features in the data.

For example:

  • colour map ranges
  • Initial box structures
  • Forcing first step to be a rebin?

Needs input from instrument scientists for both SXD and INS

Michael,

Could you take the lead on this ticket? Owen mentioned that there is some colour map range determination code in the slice viewer that seems to do a good job.
