Description (last modified by Owen Arnold) (diff)

Report from Russell Ewings:

" Anyway, I've checked that the problem still occurs with the patch release of Mantid. I've put some scripts and data on Babylon5:
olympic\Babylon5\Scratch\Russell Ewings\PlotMD\

The script called Sr122_nores.py basically just simulates a scattering cross-section on the Merlin instrument without including any resolution effects. The script Sr122_nores_plots.py then loads the equivalent that I generated with Tobyfit and Horace, and bins into 1d in order to compare the two methods. The problem arises if one tries to look at the Mantid simulations where the plot axis is one of the Q directions. With energy as the axis it seems to be OK. More strange is the fact that plotting the binned Tobyfit / Horace data, which has been converted to MD from an SQW file, is OK no matter what axis you choose.

As an aside, this script will also illustrate to Martyn the troubles I have lately been having getting agreement between Mantid and Tobyfit.

If you'd like to discuss any of this with me then it's probably best to give me a call on my mobile (x1471) to arrange something, as I'm dividing my time between MAPS, Merlin and my office more or less equally this week. "
