Check the version on startup and suggest update instructions if there is a newer version available.

Batch modify all SSC tickets to critical priority (this will also show up as an update for all those already as critical)

Time estimate to cover design and implementation for all platforms (although we need to consider if it is appropriate in all cases): 2 weeks
