Description
An example would be to stop calculating the peak after 3-5 sigmas.
This should improve performance.

Roman implemented generic way of handling this. This has temporarily been uncommented for Ikeda-Carpenter because of suspected memory issue, commit r5391.

More detailed look into this needed. Also to access if calculation of wavelengths for kappa needed with the automatic unit convertion in place (#1308).
