FileValidator changes (#1302) interfere with MantiPlot file chooser dialog

Description

The latest changes to the FileValidator (#1302) prevents the MantiPlot file chooser dialog from seeing files that can be loaded by a particular loader.

From MantiPlot:

  • Invoke a loader algorithm (for instance LoadRaw).
  • Once the loader dialog shows up, click Browse.
  • Within the file chooser, navigate to a directory where you'd expect to see files that have the correct file extension for the chosen reader.

(In [4942]) Changes to FileValidator have lead to the "." being inserted in file browser dialog being unnecessary. Fixes #1336.

Forgot that closing directly in the check-in comment takes it past the testing step.

I tried a few load algorithms and navigated to directories and was that the associated files are shown in the browser.
