Clean up InstrumentSelector MantidQt widget

Description

At end of the last iteration, I might a bit of a mess in the InstrumentSelector widget trying to fix a crash from ticket #1691.

In this ticket, I'll tidy up a bit which I didn't have time to do as we approached release.
