Description

The GUI should override the file, not vice versa

Changing the Min and Max wavelength settings in the Analysis Details tab is reflected in the name of the workspace you get when you click a reduce (Run Numbers tab)

I changes the minimum and maximum wavelength values in the appropriate tab and saw that the output workspace and file names were adjusted accordingly.
