Problems with autocomplete in terminal

I am editing a script file in the built-in python script window. As soon as I type a word that starts like a word it recognizes, it offer tab completion with a little pull down menu. However I don't need this. I cannot get out of it other than clicking on the window. This means, for each word I am typing I need to click after each letter. Very annoying! Also, I cannot actually evoke the offered service, clicking on any of the choices does not do anything. I am using the linux version of Mantid in an x-window on a Intel Mac.

I think that this was fixed with the update to qscintilla.
