Description (last modified by Anders Markvardsen) (diff)
The monitor spectra used in multiperiod runs will be calculated from the sum of each period's monitor spectrum. The monitor spectrum used in the reduction of each period this summed spectrum multiplied by ratio of the integral of that period's monitor to summed monitor.
The reason for this is to increase the accuracy by taking the shape of the monitor counts against wavelength from all periods.
To test this perform a SANS reduction on a multiperiod file (SANS2D00005512.nxs) in the GUI (mantidproject.org/Using_the_SANS_GUI) and then inspect the workspace history of the result. Look for how the workspace named monitor was created.

bulk move to assigned at the into of the triage step
An example. If say 4 period data for 4 different temperatures. The monitor counts will not be affected by the temperature changes. Would like to combine the statistics of the monitor counts from the 4 different periods
