Description
Sometimes, a scientists wants to analyse the signal from just bunch of the detectors, grouped in a peculiar way. For that, he would specify a map file, which would pick and map just the detectors of interest, expecting to get transformation to energy really quickly if the group is small.
It seems that Mantid at the moment not only loads but processes all detectors do not providing any substantial speed gain for reduced map.
Alternatively, if you processed data with large map, and try to analyse the data with smaller map, the algorithm fails as wanadium workspace has different size from the mapped workspace.
Would be useful if small detectors groups can be processed really quickly.

I think this is a mis-understanding of how Mantid should be used - please come and talk to me.
