Loading to Taret save folder without backslash causes filename merge

Reported by: Alex Buts Owned by: Anders Markvardsen
Priority: major Milestone: Release 3.3
Component: Tools Keywords:
Cc: Blocked By:
Blocking: Tester: Martyn Gigg

Description (last modified by Anders Markvardsen) (diff)

If one loads data from catalog (see http://www.mantidproject.org/ISIS_Search), the files are loaded to a folder, specified in:

File->Manage User Directories->Default Save directory.

One can choose this directory by browsing to directory and choosing select. In this case the path to this directory appears in

"Default Save Directory" field.

e.g. if I selected to save some MARI results to C:/users/MyName/Data, the field:

C:/users/MyName/Data would appear there.

If I then do not manually add backslash to the end of this string (C:/users/MyName/Data/)

the data files which usually start from MAR* are renamed into DATAMAR* and saved into C:/users/MyName/ folder.

Annoying!

I might have fixed the issue raised by Alex a couple of years ago and then forgot to close this ticket. Note this was done before we introduced the development branch and the code commits are already part of master.

Meanwhile note the details of how you download has changed: http://www.mantidproject.org/Catalog_Search

Hence now when you download then you browse to where the files should go and File->Manage User Directories->Default Save directory is no longer used.

To tester: If you agree with the above sentence than OK, i.e. that you clicking on download button on catalog search you are asked where you want files to be downloaded to then OK

Agreed. Catalog search has changed completely and default save is not used at all. The commits are also already on master so nothing really to test.
