Description
In some cases the sample is not accurately placed at the theoretical sample position. The sample offset for the assumed position alters the Q-vectors and may make the recorded peaks harder to index, and the indexing less accurate. Possible ways to adjust for this during the indexing process should be investigated. NOTE: Preliminary work indicates that this may be possible if there are a relatively large number of peaks (100 or more). If there are only a small number of peaks there may not be enough data to make a reliable estimate of the sample offset.
