Reduce number of clicks in instrument view

Description

In the new version of Mantid, does it remember the last used "openGL/non OpenGL" and stick to it or has some kind of preference ? It is pretty annoying to have to reset it every time. Also when you go from cylindrical view non-openGL back to 3D could it stop telling you you have to go back to openGL before doing that and just do it itself (there is far too many clicking in Mantid, if we can reduce some, that's good).
