Is this really true? It seems to have changed on my 2 windows machines.

Looks like it's not as simple as that. I thought I'd test it out again by uninstalling the recent version I had and then installing the last release. The desktop shortcut, which definitely went away when I uninstalled, came back again with the new logo. Everywhere else it's the old one (as expected).
