For the record, the superbuild code is here.
I've applied Owen's fix to the superbuild code and made a new package. After installation, the Mantid kit with the new ParaView now works for the view that was originally crashing.
I have a build for a ParaView kit on the ORNL build server, but I can't run it right now. I intend to make a similar build on the ISIS server.

A ParaView Windows 7 build is now working at ISIS complete with copying a kit to the VATES download page. Now working on the Windows XP version.

The WinXP version needs help from Martyn due to missing symbols in some Qt libraries for Win32.

Martyn fixed the Win32 Qt and has created a ParaView package for WinXP. Looks like Windows is good to go with kits.
