VSI Crash

Reported by: Owen Arnold Owned by: Michael Reuter
Priority: major Milestone: Release 2.5
Component: VATES Keywords:
Cc: Blocked By:
Blocking: Tester: Owen Arnold

Description

Affects OSX 10.6, Paraview 3.98.1 Mantid 2.4.2164

  • Load the SEQ_MDEW.nxs dataset out of the Data directory in the system test repository
  • Open in the VSI
  • Choose Rebin and change the x, y, z, t bins to 100, 100, 100, 20 in that order. Apply the rebin.
  • Using the time/animation controls, play through the deltaE frames till the end
  • Now switch to the 3-slice view -> Crash

I'll attach the crash report for this, but it looks like its originating from the color range settings. Maybe because the last frame contains no visible data?

I'm originally setting M. Reuter as the ticket owner, but pass the ticket back to me if you want.

Would be good to fix this for release 2.5 if possible.

The branch is here.

To Test: Follow the above prescription and the VSI shouldn't crash.

Hate it when I forget to do this.

I just tried it again. And it crashes in exactly the same way.. I'd like to double check this for you, as I had to build/package off develop (I won't go into why). Happy for you to reassign ticket to someone else if you want a second opinion. Otherwise, I can test this properly in the morning if it's not clear why this is still failing.

Pulled the latest develop kit from the ISIS Jenkins site and it's working for me.

This has fixed the issue. Sorry for the false alarm, not quite sure why the issue reappeared on the incremental build, but the behaviour has been fixed on the clean develop build that I tested.
