Description
Now that all the recent changes for the SplatterPlot have come together, I've found that applying the pick mode makes the data disappear. If you pick around and hit a peak, the data reappears. It shouldn't work like that. Grr.

This seems to be a very intermittent thing and I'm having trouble getting it to repeat reliably on different datasets.

- Status changed from accepted to verify
- Resolution set to fixed
Branch is here.
To Test:
- Create a SCD dataset via the SCD Event Data Reduction interface
- Open the resulting MDWorkspace in the VSI and switch to SplatterPlot view
- Enter pick mode by toggling the Pick Mode button
The data on the display should not disappear. It's best to try this with a few different datasets to be sure that the issue is goen.

I don't see the problem without the change.

This doesn't work all that well on other platforms and still has other issues.

Refs #7225. Reverting change as it doesn't cause/help the issue.

I'm closing this ticket off as invalid since I believe the source of the issue is outside the SplatterPlot class. See #7278 for where I think things are going wrong.

I've been following this story for some time and the new ticket captures the real problem.
