Investigate strange memory behaviour

Description

Pascal sent the attached screenshot from running Load then Crop. It appears that a lot of memory is still be used when it should not be. The strange this is that if you run another algorithm, Scale for example, it will drop to what you expect.

I believe this is still behaviour with tcmalloc and the release free memory calls that we don't fully understand
