The error was caused when running Elwin and plotting a workspace with a very large number of spectra and the user chose to click cancel when asked if they were sure they wanted to plot all of spectra.

To Tester I've supplied some files that will replicate the error. Run Elwin using the instructions on the wiki:

http://www.mantidproject.org/Indirect:Indirect_Data_Analysis#Running_Elwin

Be sure to check the "plot output" option. When asked if you wish to plot all the spectra, click cancel. The final plot should not be shown and you should not get the above error.

Downgrading this ticket as this error was also present in the previous release. I originally thought it was something broken between 2.6 and 3.0.
