Verification of the ISIS quick scripts (with liquids)

Reported by: Nick Draper Owned by: Jean Bilheux
Priority: major Milestone: Release 3.3
Component: Reflectometry Keywords: SSC,2014,All
Cc: Blocked By:
Blocking: Tester: Owen Arnold

Description (last modified by Owen Arnold) (diff)

We have various algorithms and scripts described here: http://www.mantidproject.org/Reflectometry_Guide. We need to know what would be involved in porting these to work with liquids, because that hasn't been the focus thus far at ISIS, while it is at the SNS. For some of these algorithms/scripts, required instrument parameters will be needed for each instrument for some of the inputs, but for the newer ReflectometryReductionOne and CreateTransmissionWorkspace, this is not the case.

For this ticket, the owner should be trying to use ReflectometryReductionOne and CreateTransmissionWorkspace (and other algorithms described in the guide) to attempt to construct a useful liquid reflectometry workflow. The findings, along with fixes to be made (not just 'this doesn't work ') need to be reported back. This ticket itself may involve no code changes.

From estimation:

Full time effort for one SNS developer with help from ISIS.

Jean, I think you are probably right about this, but can we have a chat about this. I need a better understanding about why this decision has been made?

I've talked to Jean about this, and it has come down from his instrument scientists that this is what they want to do.
