  1. Allow a large text area to define functions (look at the original qtiplot dialog).
  2. Allow functions to be created from a list of predefined functions, and user defined functions.
  3. allow functions to be saved and the reused at a later date.
  4. Possibly plot the function (Lees important)
  5. Validate the function parameters before leaving the dialog

Tried this using the UserFunction1D algo in MantidPlot.

If "saving" means that the function string is reloaded the next time the user pops up the UserFunction1D dialog, then it works. I haven't found any option to give the function a title or save it to file.
