Its a hack necessary until #11565 is properly fixed. Its applicable for some LET runs and clears up instrument definition from memory, when the data are loaded from nexus file.

its fixed as pr ​https://github.com/mantidproject/mantid/pull/604 and single commit is referenced there (went to wrong ticket)

Test by code review as the changes are trivial.
