Improve handling periods in the SANS GUI

  • Allow just one period to be extracted from a multiperiod file
  • Richard said that the transmission and direct boxes don't need period controls (but do we remove them because they are already there? I'll ask Martyn) - Yes we do!

(In [8809]) The SANS interface now uses the Load algorithm and can read sample log information from Nexus files refs #2251 and #2238 and #2152 fixes #1294

seems to work ok. will select a period from file and run through reduction with that. some related issues re: usability have been discussed with Steve.
