Description

This is item 3 in the document generated by Andrei (see #8160).

I don't think this should be a default part of mantidplot. I think that this would be best implemented (at least at first) as a module within the MantidHorace package.

The general idea is that you have a top-level Plot command to which you can pass any workspace and the correct Plotting utility will automatically be used depending upon the workspace.

Should use:

  • plotMD for 1D cuts on MDWorkpaces
  • plotSlice for 2D+ cuts on MDWorkspaces

If should be possible to change the selection logic at a later point. For example, we may wish to plot using the VSI.
