An info label in the gui indicating the colors of the axes would be helpful (red for X, green for Y, blue for Z); however I'm not familiar enough with qt and MantidPlot to know where to put this, so I will leave it to someone who knows...

Reopened, we really need the on/off checkbox on the GUI, either next to or possibly replacing the high resolution lighting box (which is useless anyway).

The axis key could replce the text at the bottom of the window when the axes are checked on.

Talk to Martyn Gigg if you need help making the QT changes.

Priority raised to critical as I would be unhappy making the release without the on/off option.

The toggle button works as expected and the axes are in the correct relationship to one another. However, the predefined axis views do not follow the conventions of VisIt or ParaView. I think this needs to be addressed, but not right now. I have opened #1537 for this minor issue.
